Making a Statement Before Winter Ends

BALLOON SLEEVE CARDIGAN | SUEDE + BEADED CHOKER | LAYERING LS TEE | LIGHT WASH DENIM (also similar) | SIMILAR SADDLE BAG (or mine in black) | SUEDE BOOTIES (now $50) | PINK LIP

Okay, so six weeks doesn’t exactly mean Spring is around the corner, but it also doesn’t mean that we can’t start getting excited for warmer temps, fresh new blooms and a brighter wardrobe. So before winter comes to an end, I’ll be making use of my new favorite statement piece.

Balloon sleeves have been the upgrade to my bell sleeves this winter and this beautifully knit cardigan from Anthropologie is no exception. I’ve never been a huge fan of cardigans (I’ve always preferred a pullover sweater) but I totally fell in love with the boho, slouchy look to this piece. It’s blue-grey color is unlike any shade of grey I own and the statement sleeve adds the perfect touch.

I layered this look with one of my essential Free People long sleeve tees and this gorgeous choker from Capwell + Co. (currently on sale for under $65!). What I love about this necklace is that it can be worn for its length, or shortened by wrapping or knotting it.

Joe and I have been doing our shoots early in the morning on weekends and while I didn’t love the idea of a 7am wakeup call at first, I got used to the quiet and empty streets rather quickly. Plus, waking up early always makes me want to make the most out of my day. This particular morning was our do-over shoot from the weekend prior because of how windy it turned out to be, so I’ve been so excited to share this outfit with you!

This is such a lovely spring inspired outfit! I’ve never shot at 7M before!! That sounds so cruel haha. The sun doesn’t get up until 8-9 here or so right now but I’m still sleeping 😂 The balloon sleeve trend looks darling on you! I love how they’re coming up with all of these sleeve trends haha

Oh gosh it is SO cruel, but worth it for the empty streets and perfect lighting!

Ballon sleeves and a cardigan, seriously you nail the look. That goes to show that stepping out of your comfort zone sometimes can lead into incredible results!

Completely adoring the balloon sleeves on you! Not to mention they are super cozy on a cold winter day. I also love the color combo of this outfit– so pretty 🙂

Thanks girlfriend! Have you had enough of my balloon sleeves yet?! Haha

A million times YES to that amazing necklace! For real, I’m in love. Also, totally adoring that cardigan. Unlike you, I’ve always been a massive fan of cardigans during the winter. In high school, I used to just ditch long sleeve tops, and I’d only wear short sleeve tops with cardigans layered over top haha! But this is the grown up version of that and I have to say, I like it a lot more 😉

I neeeeeeeed that necklace! Oh my goodness, it’s amazing! I love how you styled your famous balloon sleeves over another sweater. Your layering game is on point! On another note, don’t you love it when the wind makes you re-do shoots… it’s the best…

Thanks, Emma! It does remind me of Chloe, but much more reasonably-priced!
