This post has been a long time coming, and to be honest, I really don't know why I didn't do it sooner! I've been trying my best to educate you guys via Insta Stories over the last few months on all the ways you can shop your favorite featured pieces. I thought my teaching game was pretty strong until I came to the obvious realization that a quick lesson shared over a 24 hour period before it disappears into the Instagram abyss is pretty pointless.
So I guess you could say I'm getting older and wiser because it's time to lay it all out for ya in a single post that will live for-ev-er (any Sandlot fans out there?) on P&P.
If after reading this you're more confused than when you started, please don't hesitate to stop reading my blog all together because I have failed you...or to just reach out :). I'm constantly learning from you guys and your feedback is what helps tailor my content to exactly what you need...so speak up in the comment section below or by shooting me an e-mail!
1. See It: On Instagram / Shop It: On the Blog
Okay, so you see a new outfit post on Instagram, and you want to know where you can get that ah-mazing pair of jeans I've been raving about for the past 3 weeks. You see that @liketoknow.it tag and some weird link but get really annoyed because you just want to see the damn jeans already.
First of all - You can see the damn jeans. Don't worry. But creating a LiketoKnow.it account might be a great idea if you like to follow other bloggers and their outfits (more on that below).
So you want to shop the jeans and you want to shop them now. All of my Instagram posts live on the main page of the Shop section on my blog at www.pineappleandprosecco.com, and there are two shortcuts you can use to get to my Shop section from Instagram:
One / Navigate out of Instagram and open a new browser window. Head directly to my shop page by typing in the following link: www.pineappleandprosecco.com/shop. You can easily bookmark this page so that you can visit anytime!
Two / With this method, you'll be taken directly to the same page as above. Simply a different way of getting there without leaving Instagram. Head to the link in my Instagram bio. I use an app that allows me to attach multiple pages to my bio link. When you follow the link, simply click on the "Shop My Instagram Feed" tab!
Next, simply click on the post where you see the item you want to shop, and get those damn jeans.
2. See It: On Instagram / Shop it: Via E-Mail Through LiketoKnow. It
Okay, so you see a new outfit post on Instagram, and you want to know where you can get those vintage white sunnies that I've featured in a few of my recent posts. You see that @liketoknow.it tag and some weird link and want to know more.
LiketoKnow. It allows me, as a blogger, to link up items I'm wearing in my Instagram posts so that every time you, as a reader, like one of my photos, you receive a ready-to-shop link to my entire outfit post via your e-mail within minutes. Full disclosure, every time you purchase an item that I link through LiketoKnow. It, I receive a small commission.
Bottom line, LiketoKnow.it is easy; it's convenient; it's a no-brainer.
In order to use LiketoKnow. It, you have to be signed up for an account. All you'll need is an e-mail and password, and you're good go!
3. See It: On Instagram / Shop It: Via Screenshot Through Your LiketoKnow.it App
So if you've hopped on the LiketoKnow.it bandwagon, you're going to want to take advantage of this next feature. I, personally prefer this over shoppable e-mails because it's a more organized way for me to shop all of my likes in one place, rather than do so through multiple e-mails.
Once you've signed up for LiketoKnow.it, head on over to the app store and download the LiketoKnow.it app. Once installed, simply screenshot any post you want the deets on. Within about 30 seconds, you'll receive a notification that your screenshot is ready to shop (make sure you've enabled your notifications first!) and you can do so directly from your LiketoKnow.it app.
Your app will also house all of your likes on LiketoKnow.it-enabled images, so it's a great place to visit all of your favorite looks as a wishlist of sorts.
4. See It: On Instagram / Shop It: Via Insta Stories within 24 Hours
If you happen to catch a post within 24 hours, you can head right over to my insta stories to shop the pieces. Simply look for the "read more" text at the bottom of the story and swipe up or tap!
With this method, you'll be taken directly to the website to shop each individual piece; a great option if you shop from your phone!
Remember, Insta Stories expire in 24-hours, so if you miss the mark, simply utilize one of the other methods explained above.
5. See It: On Insta Stories / Shop It: By Swiping Up or On the Blog
Often times I feature items on my Insta Stories that you won't see in my actual posts. This might be new mail (that I'll shoot in the coming weeks), pieces from try-on sessions, beauty and skincare products or special items from brands.
I do my best to link up everything right on Stories, so usually all you have to do is swipe up to shop.
But let's say you see something, forget about it, and go back 24 hours later only to find the story has expired!
I've created an Insta Stories tab that lives on my Shop page for you to access all that you see. Simply head to the link in my bio and click on "Shop My Insta Stories". If you want to visit this page directly from my blog, navigate over to www.pineappleandprosecco.com/insta-stories.
I refresh this list seasonally, so if there's ever something you know you saw but you can't seem to find, just get in touch!
Lots of information to digest, but I hope that you can come away from this post with a better understanding of how to find the pieces you love on P&P! My hope is that once you understand all of the ways to shop my Instagram, you can find the way that works best for you.
If you're a desktop shopper, I recommend visiting my shop page directly, whereas if you're a mobile shopper, I definitely recommend signing up with LiketoKnow.it (if you aren't already), downloading the app and taking advantage of the screenshot feature.
Whether you're a blogger or not, how to you prefer to shop items you see on Instagram? Let me know in the comments below!
