How to Throw the Perfect Rosé-Themed Get Together

rosé-themed get together

Summer and rosé just seem to go hand-in-hand, and so when my girls Sylvia, Karen and I knew that we'd be getting together for a weekend shoot, we thought what better way than to make a day out of it poolside with some rosé-themed decor?

The girls and I teamed up with Charlotte Russe to shoot some Hamptons-inspired summer looks (see here incase you missed it on Instagram!), and decided that Karen's gorgeous backyard would be the perfect setting. We made use out of her chic bar and pool setup, along with the beautifully-bloomed hydrangeas and some fun props we brought in.

After our shoot, we enjoyed the rest of the afternoon poolside, with plenty of rosé flowing. Keep reading for some tips on throwing the perfect rosé-themed get together!

1. Colorful Sweets

I'm all about colorful sweets...as long as they taste as good as they look! Macarons are the perfect pastel addition to a rosé-themed party and do a great job complimenting the pretty pink bottles.

We definitely scarfed down those macarons the second our shoot was over 😆. Karen happened to be passing through the city the afternoon before and picked these up at Macaron Café in the city. The best part? You can place your order online and they'll be ready for pick up when you get there.

2. Soft Florals

When it comes to a causal get together, I feel like florals are often left out of the picture. In my opinion, however, they are one of the most important additions to a party and can totally change the feel of the atmosphere!

To stick to the rosé color palette, we opted for pink and peach roses. The peach ended up being a last minute decision, but such a nice way to add some variation to all of the pink.

Instead of arranging them bouquet-style, we loved the idea of using glass milk bottles to hold pairs of roses, and Karen's bar made for the perfect location to line them all up, totally making the black and white space come to life.

3. Rosé on Display

I mean, it's a rosé party, right? So your drink of the hour needs some proper credit. We wanted to do something different than a simple bar arrangement, and Karen had the idea of using a silver beverage tub to hold our assortment of rosé.

We had some extra roses left over from our florals, so I thought of the idea to snip off the stems and throw 'em on ice. It ended up being a total Pinterest-worthy display and one that I'll most definitely be recreating.

4. Not-So-Simple Glassware

You're probably thinking that glassware is the last thing you need at a party, and that finding a set of paper or plastic cups is much easier than 3 dishwasher-loads full of glasses...and you're right. But -- it's all about the atmosphere!

Had we been with a big group, we probably would have opted out of glassware, but that doesn't mean that whatever you're using has to be boring. Amazon and Etsy are great places to find decorative cups that are a little more exciting than your typical clear plastic or white paper. We found these blue trestle glasses and knew we had to had them. In fact, I loved them so much I bought a second set for myself.

Regardless of what you decide to use, make it fun, and put in that extra effort to stray from simple!
